A good fade looks simple and takes real skill. At Salon Milliard, our barbers blend every fade by hand, from the skin up, so the transition looks smooth in any light and grows out cleanly. We are a men's barbershop and hair salon at 1496 Danforth Ave, on the East Danforth, a short walk from Coxwell and Greenwood stations.

The fades we do

• Skin fade: taken down to the skin at the bottom and blended up into the length on top. Sharp, clean and modern.
• Low fade: starts just above the ears and neckline. A subtle choice that keeps more weight on the sides.
• Mid fade: begins around the temples for a balanced look that works with most styles on top.
• Taper: a softer, more classic fade at the sideburns and neckline that suits the office and longer styles.

How we cut a fade

Every fade starts with a consultation. We look at your head shape, hair type, growth patterns and how you wear your hair day to day, then agree on the lengths and where the fade should sit. We build the gradient with clippers, refine it with careful blending, and finish the top with scissors so the whole cut works together. A crisp lineup at the hairline and neckline completes the look.

Which service to book

A fade is included in our Haircut ($45), which comes with a consultation, shampoo and styling. For more time in the chair, the Premium Haircut ($75) adds a therapeutic scalp treatment and a 20 minute deep scalp massage. Keeping your fade sharp

Fades grow out faster than most cuts, so most clients book every two to three weeks to keep the lines crisp. Walk in clients are always welcome, but booking ahead guarantees your preferred barber, especially on Saturdays. We serve the Danforth, Leslieville, East York and Riverdale.
